You Don't Need a $400/Year Plan to Put Your Logo on a QR Code
Every major QR code platform does the same thing: they put logo embeds behind their most expensive plan.
Bitly: logo QR codes start at $420/year. Flowcode: $60/month. QR Tiger: $70/year and up. The feature is consistently bundled with team seats, API access, custom domains, and enterprise analytics you don't need.
If you're a small business owner who wants your logo in the center of a QR code on your menu, your storefront, or your business card — you're subsidizing infrastructure built for marketing agencies.
Why Platforms Do This
The economics make sense from their side. Logo embeds are a high-perceived-value feature. Customers associate branded QR codes with professionalism, which is exactly what someone paying for a mid-tier or enterprise plan cares about. So platforms use it as an upgrade lever: free tier gets plain codes, paid tiers get branded ones.
The feature itself is not expensive to provide. It's image compositing — your logo gets placed in the center of the QR image using standard error correction headroom built into the QR spec. The computation is trivial. The storage is a single image file per code.
The price isn't reflecting cost. It's reflecting where the feature sits in the upgrade funnel.
What You Actually Need
A branded QR code that works needs three things:
- Dynamic redirect — the destination URL can be changed without reprinting the code
- Scan tracking — you can see when and where the code was scanned
- Logo embed — your image, centered, without breaking scannability
That's it. Everything else — team dashboards, bulk exports, custom branded domains, API integrations, campaign tagging — is legitimate enterprise functionality that should cost enterprise money. But those three things don't require a $400/year plan.
The One-Time Model
TwoDollarQR charges $20/year for a dynamic QR code with full scan analytics. Logo embed is $10, one time, added at checkout or any time after.
Year 1: $30. Every year after: $20. The logo never goes away. There's no subscription tier for the logo. No renewal. No "logo feature" that disappears if you downgrade.
It's a product, not a feature gate.
How to Add Your Logo
At checkout when creating a new code, check "Add logo embed — +$10 one-time". The total becomes $30. After payment, you land directly on the upload page.
If you already have a code, open it from your dashboard. The "Add Logo — $10" button is on the detail page. One click, one payment, upload your file.
Supported formats: PNG, JPEG, SVG, WebP. Max 2MB. The logo renders immediately in the center of your QR code at the right size and with proper white padding so it doesn't interfere with the scan zones.
